Why I’m Running

Pueblo isn’t just where I live, it’s who I am...

This community shaped me, taught me the value of hard work, and gave me every opportunity I’ve had. My family has called Pueblo home for generations, and I feel a deep responsibility to give back.

I’m running for State Senate because I believe in Pueblo’s potential — and I believe our challenges can be solved if we work together.

This is about real people, real problems, and real solutions. I’m ready to bring fresh energy, listen to every voice, and fight every day to move Pueblo forward.

Meet Taylor Voss

A Community First Value System.

I recognize that we live in a time where there is tremendous political divide; we find ourselves in a climate where it’s difficult to have productive conversations around issues and it’s even more difficult to find common ground. But I’m also a believer in the foundation that our democracy was founded on, which is that our politics should rise above emotion, passion, and angry partisan factions, and aspire towards calm deliberation, logic and reason, and the commitment to constructively debate and talk through challenges to ultimately land upon the best solutions.

I recognize that I may not agree with everyone on every issue, but an even greater emphasis for me in this campaign, above political ideology, is my values that drive me as a citizen of the United States of America, a Coloradan, and a Puebloan. I hope my values can speak more to the core of who I am and what I represent, and I hope that can be a starting point for us to connect, no matter where you are on the political spectrum. These are the values that drive me:

Respect – recognizing and appreciating the inherent dignity and worth of all people.

Selfless Service – doing what’s right for the people of Pueblo County, and the state of Colorado, and putting these responsibilities above my own interests.

Loyalty – an obligation to be faithful to serving in the best interest of the people of
Pueblo County.

Hard-Working – to earn the esteem of my fellow Puebloans, but putting forth tremendous effort in service of them.

Duty – fulfilling my obligations by doing my work not just to the minimum standard, but to the very best of my ability.

Honor – to not just do what’s required, but to go above and beyond the service that is expected.

Self-Improvement – constant and continuous improvement, and a willingness to look critically inside and make changes when needed.

Self-Improvement – constant and continuous improvement, and a willingness to look critically inside and make changes when needed.

Self-Improvement – constant and continuous improvement, and a willingness to look critically inside and make changes when needed.

Personal Courage – to always move forward and do what is necessary in the face of fear, danger, or adversity.

Trust – strengthen relationships by listening, seeking to understand, and knowing that everyone is my superior in some way, and in that I learn from them.

Forward-Looking – a leader is a dealer in hope, and we need hope in a vision worth working towards for our state and our community.

Integrity – to consistently act in accordance with my principles listed here.
